1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Jotling ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the App.

2. License

Subject to your compliance with these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Jotling for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Modify, adapt, or create derivative works
• Rent, lease, sell, or sublicense the App
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Free Tier

The free version of Jotling includes limited features as outlined in the app. Free tier usage is subject to fair use policies.

Pro Subscription

Pro subscriptions are available as monthly ($4.99) or annual ($39.99) auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple's App Store.

• Payment charged to your App Store account
• Auto-renews unless canceled 24 hours before period ends
• Manage or cancel in App Store account settings
• 7-day free trial available for new Pro subscribers
• No refunds for partial subscription periods

Lifetime Purchase

Lifetime access ($59.99) is a one-time purchase that includes:

• All Pro features forever
• All future updates and features
• Access on all supported platforms when released
• No recurring charges

4. User Content

You retain all rights to content you create in Jotling (journal entries, notes, photos, etc.). Since all data is stored locally on your device, we never access or claim any rights to your content.

5. Disclaimers

Not Educational Advice

Jotling is a tracking and organizational tool. It does not provide language learning advice, curriculum, or instruction. Always consult qualified language instructors for learning guidance.

As-Is Basis

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We don't guarantee the App will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months prior to the claim.

7. Data Loss

While we strive to provide reliable data storage:

• You are responsible for backing up your data
• Use the export features regularly
• Enable iCloud sync for automatic backups (optional)
• We are not liable for any data loss

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination:

• Your license to use the App ends immediately
• Export your data before uninstalling
• No refunds for unused subscription time

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. We'll notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
